Who's Auntie

Everybody's got one.

Auntie is the person in the family who knows what you take for that. Not a doctor. Not a guru. The one who sends you home with something in a jar and tells you to call her tomorrow.

That's been the delivery system for herbal medicine for as long as there's been herbal medicine, and it works because there's a person on the other end of it. Somebody who made it, who knows what went in it, and who cares whether it helped.

We're not trying to look like a laboratory. We're trying to be that person, at scale, without losing the part that made it work.

So: small batches. Ingredients on the front. Names you'd actually say out loud. And a card in every box telling you where the plant grows and how to take the thing.

If something doesn't work for you, tell us. We'd rather know than sell you the next one.

How it's made

Four steps, and none of them are rushed.

Every batch follows the same order. The dates on your label are real ones.

  1. Sourced

Certified organic where it's grown commercially, wild-harvested where it isn't, from three farms we've visited. The farm is named on every batch record.

  2. Dried low

Under 100°F, in racks, for as long as it takes. Heat is fast and it costs you the volatile oils, which is most of what you came for.

  3. Steeped long

Tinctures sit twenty-one to forty-two days depending on the root. Most commercial tinctures are pulled at seven. You can taste the difference and so can we.

  4. Bottled by hand

Pressed, filtered, filled, capped, labeled. Batch number and count written on the label because we actually counted them.

Straight talk

What herbs can do, and what they can't.

Most of this industry is careful to phrase things so you hear a promise that was never made. We'd rather just say it plainly.

What we'll tell you

  • What's in it, in plain language, on the front of the label
  • How the plant has traditionally been used, and for how long
  • What it tastes like, including when that's unpleasant
  • How long it steeped, where it was grown, how many we made
  • When you should talk to a doctor instead of us

What we won't say

  • That anything here treats, cures, or prevents a disease
  • That it boosts, supercharges, or optimizes anything
  • That it's a replacement for medication you've been prescribed
  • That "chemical-free" or "detox" mean anything, because they don't
  • Anything we couldn't show you the batch record for
